About U2CanRun
U2CanRun is officially launched after an extensive period of planning. Myrna started running in her forties when she was diagnosed with osteoporosis. Despite 2 broken bones and 4 operations, one of which being major (unrelated to running), in the 10 years since diagnosis she has qualified six times for the Boston Marathon and won medals in many other prestigious races.
Myrna created U2CANRUN in response to the numerous people who would approach her amazed not only at how she runs, but at how much better she looks physically and emotionally.
Her response was simply “U2CANRUN!”
With personal experience of the benefits and accessibility of the sport of running to people regardless of age / shape, Myrna decided to spread her word of wellness in body and mind.
"I hope that people find my story inspiring...."
"I think talking about my journey can be helpful to others, who might feel too intimidated to run because of age, shape or illness.
It was never my plan to become a serious runner. I picked up running after having to regularly spend a few minutes on a treadmill, before the weight-bearing exercise sessions to strengthen my bones. If I can do it, so can you. Look great, feel great, and if you were in any doubt, trust me U2CanRun!"
